Self-publishing Vs Publishing Company

I don’t know if I want to find a publisher for the rest of my novels or just do self publishing. I mean, what do publishing companies offer that would
make me want to use them? I have really liked the fact that you can publish your novel on Kindle or Nook for free. You can’t be that. Publishers
do have editors and marketing experts at their disposal. Also, some places you can’t get access to without having an agent. I really wish one of
my friends could be my agent. You know, someone you can trust and know they are putting the success of your novel first. On the other hand if I go
at this alone, I only have to pay me. Well, my editor and illustrator too.

I have to think about this longer and weigh out the pros and cons of both situations. So for right now I will keep plugging away at the self-pusblishing
and hope a break will come sooner than later.

What I’m listening to while writing (Alt-J)

Lately I have been listening to Alt-J’s An Awesome Wave.  Their music is so melodic it puts me in this zone like Chopin does.  All my friends seem to listen

to them and I can’t get enough of them.  You should definitely go out or download the album.  It’s worth the money.  My favorite song off the album currnetly (which has changed numerous times) is Matilda.  Such a sweet song.  But I am starting to get into Tessellate.  This entire album is good from beginning to end.  I recommend this one for everyone.  Go to their face book page at http://www.facebook.com/altJ.band?fref=ts and like

An Awesome Wave

So much to do

I’ve trying so hard to finish out this second book to get out to my readers.  Although I keep saying its almost done (which it is), I keep having this feeling I’m not going fast enough.  I started working on my next project about a year ago and have 90 pages already written.  So now that my second book is almost done, my mind wants to keep going to the my next project.  Which is cool, but it makes it seem I’m not finishing things before I start another.  Yes, it is a little annoying but I’ve learned to deal with it.  It’s just how my brain works.

I plan on having to covers for Book II.  One is for the Kindle and Nook that yours truly will design.  Something simple I am thinking.   And the second will be done by the artist of the first (Sean Jersett)  a brilliant artist and  designer.  Everyone should check his stuff out.  Find him on Facebook, you will not regret it.  The physical form of Book II will not be out until next year which kind of sucks but that’s the way it is.  I am starting to get a small following which is awesome and hope it keeps building especially after Book II comes out.

I really hope my blogging is getting better from the first one I put out.  I don’t talk about politics or really anything else that doesn’t have to do with writing or art in general.  So I thank everyone that continues to read my all my blabbing.  I am still learning about this blogging thing and will try to make them more interesting in the future.  More to Come…
